Julie Jonak wrap the balloon in plastic wrap and tie the end closed, so you’ve created a balloon around the balloon. Covers it completely. Putting the words food safe on video does not make it so. Note that no legitimate source for an FDA approved balloon has been provided. Because it does not exist. ..This cake was leveled, stacked, and decorated with bare hands but god forbid the bubbles touch a dirty old balloon, amirite.

Can I ask what's up with the simple syrup? I'm guessing it's to add moisture and MORE sweetness to the cake, but my impression is that it would just make the cake soggy. Is often used for cakes that take a long time to decorate or are being made ahead of time. It's 50/50 water and sugar. @Candy De La Fuente Im a cake baker and designer and I never use simple syrup on my cakes. Its really not nessesary. If im nit going to decorate a cake right away i freeze it. When thawed its moister than before I froze it. My customers rave at thr fluffy softness of my cakes. :) as for the baking, decorating and frosting of this particular cake...it would take me 4 hrs tops to do this. And thats if i am working on other orders during. However, those balloons may take a day or two so just do them ahead of time and bake on the 3rd day. Am I using the wrong gel food coloring? I can NEVER get the color I want. How does everyone else do it??? Ugh. RobertandPatricia Leija have you tried the neon colors? It comes with hot pink, neon green, electric yellow and I think purple. Super pretty and all, but... Pretty sure the sprinkles would hurt my Official Jack Skellington Stay Out Of My Bubble Shirt. You take a bite of soft cake, and then Crrrrrrrrunch. Lol.
