How would you liked to be hauled out of bed by a sharp metal hook, paraded around the street for photos and then thrown back in your bed with probably very little respect. Sharks are becoming so endangered because of humans the less we interfere with them the better! Run a news story on how many sharks are killed a year, how depleting numbers are causing concerns for our oceans or is that not news worthy!? "We are not trying to panic anyone" with our news head line, but if you read deeper, you will find it was actually an angling incident! Usual sensationalism designed to make the incident sound news worthy. "It is understood the man was angling for sharks and had been trying to unhook one of the fish when he was bitten."
Well then being bitten is the risk you take...? apparently it was more of a fishing accident than ashark attack. Still a serious injury however and I hope the guy is ok. Don't suppose it ended well for the shark either. Ok so this is like saying “guy was bitten by bear while out in the woods killing bears, as he was trying to pull maimed bear onto truck”. That year there were more shark attacks. So I’m inclined to believe humans are blindly setting themselves up for an attack. That is when they’re not outright provoking them. A more suiting headline would be “sharkhunter gets bitten by a shark...” don’t know what he expected really? Out to kill sharks & then gets bitten by one...duh...well done shark is all I can say. Leave them alone where they belong & you wont get bitten !! Man sticks steel hook through mouth of shark and pulls it out if it's home to a place it can't breathe. Shark bites man. I'm rooting for the shark, blues are gorgeous creatures. It's the ocean. There are sharks. 150 humans get bitten by sharks every year. 100 to 200 million sharks are killed by humans every year. When are headlines going to do the story justice. No wait that's too boring I mean who would read it if a headline says a wild animal did what it's meant to do x. "We're not trying to panic anyone.", well you are trying actually, if you don’t include “while pulling a hook out of its mouth” in your headline. Weren’t they here since prehistoric age? Who thinks they can’t evolve to find food in colder( technically warmer) waters and find food/humans?
